MIDAS

Midas was born in April 2024 in a litter of 12 puppies, he is one of 6 correct boys. It was not easy to decide which one to keep but in the end, it was Midas who felt the most like ours. He spent most of his time right next to me or in my lap. And whenever his dam – my beloved Nubia – felt like playing with her puppies, she would single out Midas most often. Also, Midas is very handsome and very sweet too!

I always tell my dogs that they are made of pure gold, and since the name Nubia (Midas’ dam) means gold, Midas needed a “golden” name too. Naming him after the legendary King Midas with the golden touch was spot on for this regal and magnificent dog with the heart of gold!

Midas is a typical Rhodesian Ridgeback – a luxurious creature who loves soft beds, the warmth of the sun, having his ears scratched, digging holes, chewing everything and all the good food. Nubia and I are very proud of this wonderful golden youngster with the softest ears and the most gentle eyes. He excels in cuddles, travels and competitive obedience (already several titles to his name, he’s even completed a test for a title handled by my 7 yr old nephew).

Midas is the kind of dog you can take anywhere with you and do anything and everything with. He does not pull on the lead, he does not mark when leashed, he has great manners and reliable recall, he loves car rides and making new friends – he is really a very good boy all around. He has never even chewed up my things or gone counter-surfing.

Midas has no problems being left home alone, he does not fear loud noises or thunderstorms (or anything, actually), he is always calm and happy. He is friendly yet assertive with other dogs and just a little bit more social with humans than what is normal for this breed. I am very proud of his temper and intelligence.
